You will also be responsible for conducting thorough investigations of operational and occupational safety incidents, and using your expertise to collaborate with other teams within Avanti and Network Rail to develop initiatives that will improve train service performance and resilience.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a true operational leader, and contribute towards running a robust, safe, and reliable railway. So don't hesitate - join our team and make a difference in the world of rail transportation!

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of 3 years' current UK mainline competence as a train driver
  • Detailed knowledge of Avanti West Coast routes, infrastructure, and rolling stock.
  • Understanding of competency techniques and operational risk management.
  • Basic knowledge of HR processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with IT systems such as Microsoft Office applications, TRUST, Bugle, and OTDR analysis.
  • A coaching leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make decisions based on factual information and excellent listening skills.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing people and processes.

The salary for this role is £75,756 rising to £79,544 after 6 months.
