Driver Manger - Driving Excellence in Railway Operations!

Are you an inspiring operational leader eager to embrace your next thrilling opportunity in Train Driver Management? We are excited to welcome a passionate and talented individual to our Euston Driver Management Team as a Driver Manager!

In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of maintaining exceptional operational standards . Your expertise and experience as a mainline train driver will be vital in ensuring your team of drivers excels through comprehensive assessments, targeted improvement plans, and the effective implementation of our competency management system. You'll also play a key role in the safe introduction of new drivers, routes, and equipment.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of drivers, maintaining their competence from initial training through to assessments and continuous development.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement strategies to improve operational safety performance, conduct detailed investigations of safety incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Performance & Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance driver capability and skills, manage depot performance metrics, and proactively address driver-caused delays.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive and motivated team environment, support driver wellbeing, and ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years' current UK mainline competence as a train driver, with a proven track record in leading teams and managing people and processes.
  • Knowledge: Detailed understanding of Avanti West Coast routes, infrastructure, and rolling stock.
  • Skills: Proficiency in competency techniques, operational risk management, and basic HR processes. Familiarity with IT systems such as Microsoft Office, TRUST, Bugle, and OTDR analysis.
  • Leadership: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive relationships.
