Are you passionate about engaging with stakeholders and driving advocacy? Join our Stakeholder & Public Affairs team at West Coast Partnership, where you'll play a crucial role in protecting and promoting our reputation.
Our team engages with a wide range of external stakeholders to provide understanding, drive advocacy, mitigate criticism, and showcase achievements. We collaborate with partners to raise third-party investment and develop schemes that deliver improvements for customers, communities, and regional economies. In this role you will lead stakeholder engagement across the West Coast Partnership (WCP) franchise, supporting the Head of Public Affairs and you will implement public affairs strategies, tactics, and message development to achieve our objectives.
This role can be based in our Birmingham or London office.
Key Accountabilities:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage daily with stakeholders across Westminster and the South to protect and promote AWC and WCPD's reputation.
- Strategy and Activities: Support strategy development and deliver regional public affairs activities.
- Event Coordination: Manage events like conferences, speeches, panels, roundtables, and Party Conferences for impactful outcomes.
- Written Engagement: Handle newsletters, briefings, stakeholder bulletins, and correspondence with MPs.
- Political Insight and Reporting: Provide political insight, manage reporting, oversee the public affairs budget, and collaborate with media and comms teams.

- Public Affairs Expertise: In external engagement and providing political counsel to senior colleagues.
- Influencing and Networking: With executives, senior policymakers, and industry leaders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Leading in complex, high-profile organisations.
- Communication and Project Management: With attention to detail and delivering under pressure.
