Fleet Engineer: Driving Excellence in Rail Engineering!

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and enhancing the reliability of our Class 80x fleet? As a Fleet Engineer, your technical expertise will be crucial in identifying failure trends, developing reliability growth plans, and managing onboard systems. You'll collaborate closely with our third-party suppliers to ensure effective delivery of overhaul programs and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Fleet Performance: Proactively manage and improve fleet performance with strategic improvement plans and technical analysis.
  • Enhance Reliability: Lead the development of reliability growth plans, maintenance specifications, and fleet checks to ensure top-notch performance.
  • Manage Onboard Systems: Oversee onboard systems, conduct root cause investigations, and manage defect resolutions to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate and Represent: Represent the Fleet Team at industry forums and collaborate with Network Rail and other stakeholders to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Support Safety and Projects: Ensure fleet safety through thorough investigations and support rolling stock improvement projects to meet business objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Expertise: Solid knowledge of UK rolling stock and engineering change processes, with experience in UK standards and procedures.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills to manage technical issues effectively.
  • Initiative: A proactive self-starter who drives improvements and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Qualifications: Degree in a relevant engineering field or extensive industry experience, with accreditation from a recognized engineering institution (or working towards it).
